Although Thiensville is named for German immigrant John Henry Thien, who founded the village in 1842, Thiensville real estate was first surveyed in 1834.  By 1846, Thiensville and Mequon were both included in the Wisconsin government’s boundary for the City of Mequon.  The first town meetings for Mequon were actually held in John Henry Thien’s home.  The Village of Thiensville wasn’t incorporated as its own entity until 1910.
Thiensville public schools are overseen by the Mequon-Thiensville School District.  There are three elementary, two middle and one public high school available to Thiensville students.  Additionally, there are six private preschools and one private school that caters to students in PreK through 8th grades (Calvary Lutheran School) operating on Thiensville real estate as an alternative to public education.
Things to Do in Thiensville
Thiensville Park is a beautiful piece of real estate.  Every June, the park holds the Lion’s Fest and the Saturday before the 4th of July every year, the park hosts a “Family Fun Before the Fourth” event.  A local farmer’s market is held on Main Street every Tuesday in May through October where you can find fresh fruits, vegetables and gorgeous flowers grown by local farmers.
